An historical overview of ancient China—from the Neolithic period (approx. 6,000–2000 BCE) to the end of the Han dynasty (220 CE).
Students take on the role of archaeologists to investigate the real-world challenges of preservation. They identify the legacies of the First Emperor through role play and critical reading, and use these ideas in order to identify and celebrate the legacies of local citizens.

Learn about some of the most prolific archaeological sites in China, including the burial complex of the First Emperor and Sanxingdui
Neolithic cultures (New Stone Age) were formed along the region bordering the Yellow River which has long considere the cradle of Chinese civilization. Ceramic vessels and jade objects were found in late neolithic tombs.
